With around 7,000 inhabitants, Selfoss is the largest city in southern Iceland. It is located between Hveragerði and Hella.

Coming from the west, the bridge over the Ölfusá river is characteristic. From Reykjavík, it is a 50 km drive to Selfoss, which is located right at the ringroad, road 1. From here, it takes 30 km to the Golden Circle and 70km to the south coast of Iceland.

Selfoss is a very good location to reach the best sightseeing spots in the south of the country!

3. Selfoss Swimming Pool

Iceland people love to swim and bathe – it is for this reason that a geothermally heated swimming pool can be found in almost every town in the country. The bath in Selfoss is not far from the center and can be reached on foot. There is an outdoor pool, a children’s pool, a sauna, and fitness area including whirlpools to discover.
