Day 1: Arrival in Iceland
Hi, I’m Nina and I do an internship at UNDRA in the coming days. I chose the days before and after the UNDRA EVENT in Iceland to experience and help support in the planning of the event and the daily work around the online platform www.undra.net first hand.
Today I flew from Hamburg to Keflavík via Copenhagen and Lena picked me up at the airport. The parking ticket for the car is paid online here in Iceland and after a few attempts, we and other nice tourists understood the autopay.io payment system and were able to pay for the ticket online by credit card.
The weather here in Iceland is currently better than in Germany and the dry, clear air felt good after the hours on the plane. We then drove the 30-minute journey to Reykjavík at sunset and I’m happy to be back on the island after our family vacation in 2022.
From the capital we drove further south to Selfoss and on the car journey Lena has already made many phone calls to make further preparations for the event, such as appointments for creating pictures of the horses for sale for the online catalog. In the coming days we will be staying with Larissa from Kjarr and working from here.
At night we kept an eye out for the Northern Lights, but we were mainly able to see a lot of stars. The forecast for Aurora in the coming days is very good though.
Sunny weather is forecast for tomorrow and I will be supporting Lena in creating content for both the event and for advertising clients from Germany. Until then: good night!
A land of fire and ice, with more sheep than inhabitants, characterized by a unique nature! This is just a brief description of such a diverse country. While a volcano may erupt on one side of the country, you can hike a glacier, admire the Northern Lights, or take a bath in a hot spring on the other side of the country - at the same time.
This not only speaks for diversity, but also for spontaneity, which is also reflected in the changeable weather in Iceland. A popular Icelandic saying is "If you do not like the current weather, just wait for five minutes".
In contrast to this inconsistency, one thing is constant and that is the enthusiasm for Icelandic horses! The Vikings brought horses to the island in the 9th century.

The confirmation of the payment and the release of the booked functionalities can take up to 5 minutes.
