An exciting day about the Icelandic horse is ahead
On Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Gestüt Norderheide, Brandenburger Str. 14 in
29646 Hörpel, the next UNDRA EVENT will take place: In the form of an Icelandic horse auction and a Youngster Cup!
The public auction of around 50 Icelandic horses from different breeders and owners is being carried out by Mr. Jörg-Wilhelm Wegener, publicly appointed and sworn in by the IHK Stade as auctioneer for horses, and by Dr. Katharina Wiegand – expert for horse breeding and keeping, www.wiegand-wegener.de. We are pleased to have such an experienced team on site who can draw on many years of experience!
Horses can now be registered for the pre-selection for the auction; the form can be downloaded at the bottom of the article. Horses of all ages and training classes have already been registered for the auction and therefore unridden young horses with top pedigree, top-trained leisure horses as well as FIZO-tested breeding and sport horses will be on display and up for auction!
The auction will start at 2:00 p.m. on October 14th, the exact schedule will be announced in due course. A digital catalog with information as well as images and video material of the horses for sale will also be published about 2 weeks before the event. The horses will be brought to Gestüt Norderheide one week before the auction, on Saturday, October 7th, 2023, and will be available for viewing throughout the week and, if the horses have been ridden, for test rides. Appointments for getting to know the horses can be arranged with the sellers/trainers or via info@undra.net. There will also be a purchase examination for all horses, the contents of which will be viewable.
The entire auction will be broadcast live via video, so that anyone who would like to purchase a horse from the collection but cannot be there, can follow the action in real time. In order to be able to bid from outside, you can join by telephone. For this purpose, a local representative will bid on behalf of the desired horse(s). The bidding form can be found at the end of this article and can be signed and sent to info@undra.net with a copy of your ID card by 10:00 a.m. on the day of the auction, October 14, 2023.
In the morning, we are pleased to be able to organize a Youngster Cup, in which 10 four- and five-gaiters from the 5- and 6-year-old age groups will be presented on the oval track and judged by Johannes Hoyos. The best four-gaited and five-gaited horse will be rewarded with a generous prize! You can now register for the Youngster Cup by filling out and submitting the registration form.

A land of fire and ice, with more sheep than inhabitants, characterized by a unique nature! This is just a brief description of such a diverse country. While a volcano may erupt on one side of the country, you can hike a glacier, admire the Northern Lights, or take a bath in a hot spring on the other side of the country - at the same time.
This not only speaks for diversity, but also for spontaneity, which is also reflected in the changeable weather in Iceland. A popular Icelandic saying is "If you do not like the current weather, just wait for five minutes".
In contrast to this inconsistency, one thing is constant and that is the enthusiasm for Icelandic horses! The Vikings brought horses to the island in the 9th century.
To find out more about Iceland, you can find travelogues, reports, or interesting facts here in the UNDRA Journal!
The confirmation of the payment and the release of the booked functionalities can take up to 5 minutes.
